നിരാശാജനകം

ഈയിടെ എനിക്കുണ്ടായ ഒരു നിരാശാജനകമായ കാര്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ചാണ് ഞാൻ പറയുന്നത്. ഒരു ദിവസം വീട്ടിലിരുന്ന് മുഷിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ പുറത്തേക്ക് ഇറങ്ങിയാലോ എന്ന് ആലോചിച്ചു. അച്ഛൻ വീട്ടിൽ കിടന്ന് ഉറങ്ങുകയാണ്. എന്റെ ബൈക്ക് പണിമുടക്കിയിരിക്കുകയാണ്. അച്ഛന്റെ ബൈക്ക് എടുക്കാം. ഉടൻ തന്നെ സുഹ്രത്തും സർവോപരി ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫറുമായ മിധുനെ വിളിച്ചു. എവിടെ പോകാനും അവൻ റെഡി. നേരെ അവന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്ക് വിട്ടു.
കുറേ നാളുകളായ് ഞാൻ ഇരിങ്ങോൾ കാവിനെ കുറിച്ച് അറിഞ്ഞിട്ട്. വന മദ്ധ്യത്തിൽ ഒരു ക്ഷേത്രം. ഇന്റെർനെറ്റിലെ പതിവ് സഞ്ചാരത്തിനിടയ്ക്കാണ് അതിനെ കുറിച്ച് അറിഞ്ഞത്. ഞാൻ പലരോടും അന്വേഷിച്ചെങ്കിലും കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നല്ലാതെ പ്രത്യേകമായിട്ട് ഒരു വിവരവും കിട്ടിയില്ല. നെറ്റിലും ഇതിനെ കുറിച്ച് വലിയ പരാമർശമൊന്നും തന്നെയില്ല.ശരിക്കും ക്ഷേത്രം എന്നത് കണ്ടിട്ടല്ല എനിക്ക് പോകാൻ തോന്നിയത്. ചെറുപ്പം മുതലേ വനം, വന്യജീവി, മലകൾ, യാത്ര തുടങ്ങിയവ എന്നെ ഹരം പിടിപ്പിക്കുന്നവയാണ്. കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്തതിനാൽ അവിടം മനസ്സിൽ സങ്കല്പിച്ചു. ആഹാ!!!! വനവും അതിന്റെ നടുക്ക് പുരാതനമായ ഒരു അമ്പലവും, എന്ത് രസമായിരിക്കും.
സുഹ്രത്തിനെ പിക്ക് ചെയ്ത് നേരെ പെരുംബാവൂരിന്. അവിടെ അടുത്താണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം. അവന് ഒരു പഴയ NIKON D7O SLR CAMERA ഉണ്ട്. വഴി നല്ല നിശ്ചയം ഇല്ല. മലയാളം നന്നായി അറിയാമെന്നത് കൊണ്ട് വഴി ചോദിച്ച് ചോദിച്ച് പോയി. അവിടെ ചെന്ന്പ്പൊൾ തന്നെ ആഹ്ലാദം ഇരട്ടിച്ചു. ആദ്യം കണ്ടത് ഒരു ബോർഡാണ്.കാമറ, സിനിമ, സീരിയൽ ഷൂട്ടിംഗിനു അനുവാദം ചോദിച്ചിരിക്കണം, ഫോട്ടോസ് നെറ്റിൽ ഇടാൻ പാടില്ല, അവിടെയുള്ള ജീവികളെ ശല്യം ചെയ്യരുത് എന്നൊക്കെയാണ് എഴുതി വച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.ബൈക്ക് അവിടെ വച്ചിട്ട് ഞങ്ങൾ നടന്നു. ആ ആഹ്ലാദം അധികം നീണ്ട് നിന്നില്ല. ഞങ്ങൾ 10 അടി നടന്ന്പ്പോൾ തന്നെ അമ്പലമെത്തി. അതൊരു ദേവീ ക്ഷേത്രം ആണ്.അതും ദേവസ്വം വക. ദൈവമേ!!! ഇവിടെ കാണാൻ ഒന്നും ഇല്ലല്ലൊ.
തിരിച്ച് വീട്ടിലേക്ക് പോകാം എന്ന് കരുതി തിരിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ഒരു കുടുംബം അമ്പലമുറ്റത്ത് ഇറങ്ങാതെ ഒരു വഴിയിലൂടെ അമ്പലത്തിനു മുൻപിലേക്ക് പോകുന്നത് കണ്ടു.
അവിടെ എന്തെങ്കിലും കാണാൻ ഉണ്ടാകുമോ? നേരെ അമ്പലത്തിനു മുൻപിൽ എത്തി. കൊള്ളാം. അവിടം കാവ് പോലെ ആണ്.അതിന്റെ നടുവിലൂടെ ഒരു 100 മീറ്റർ നീളത്തിൽ ഒരു വഴിയും. അറ്റത്ത് പരിസരവാസികളുടെ പറമ്പാണ്. എന്തായാലും ചെറിയ ഇരുട്ട് ആണവിടെ. അനന്ദഭദ്രം പോലുള്ള സിനിമയിൽ കാണിക്കുന്ന കാവും പരിസരവും പോലത്തെ ഫീലിംഗ്. അവിടം എനിക്ക് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു. ഞങ്ങൾ വെറുതെ കുറച്ച് പോട്ടം പിടിക്കാനായ് അവിടെ നടന്നു.അത്രേയുള്ളൂ അവിടത്തെ കാഴ്ചകൾ. കുറച്ച് നേരം കഴിഞ്ഞ് ബൈക്കും എടുത്ത് നേരെ വീട്ടിലേക്ക് പോന്നു. അത്ഭുതമെന്ന് പറയട്ടെ കാമറയിൽ എടുത്ത ഒരു പോട്ടവും കിട്ടിയില്ല. കമ്പ്യൂട്ട്രറുമായ് കണക്റ്റ് ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ കാർഡ് എറർ എന്ന് കാണിച്ചു

എനിക്ക് പറയാനുള്ളത്

ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ പോകണമെന്നുള്ളവർ പോകുക. സമയം ചെലവഴിക്കാനാണെങ്കിൽ പോകണമെന്നില്ല. കാരണം ഇവിടെ ഒന്നും തന്നെ കാണാൻ ഇല്ല എന്നത് തന്നെ.
അവിടെ കുരങ്ങമ്മാർ ഉണ്ടെന്ന് കേട്ടിരുന്നെങ്കിലും ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ഒരു ഈച്ചയെപ്പോലും കാണാൻ സാധിച്ചില്ല. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ പോട്ടങ്ങൾ മുങ്കൂർ അനുമതി മേടിക്കാതെ പോസ്റ്റാൻ പാടില്ല എന്നതിലാവണം നെറ്റിൽ അമ്പലത്തിന്റെ പോട്ടങ്ങൾ കാണുവാൻ സാധ്യതയില്ല.( സാധാരണ ഞാൻ എവിടെ എങ്കിലും പോകുമ്പോൾ കൂട്ടുകാരുടെ ഒരു പട തന്നെ കൂടെ ഉണ്ടാകും. ഈ പ്രാവശ്യം ആരും കൂടെ ഇല്ലാരുന്ന്തിനാൽ ഇടി കൊല്ലാതെ രക്ഷപെട്ടു)

Geography and climate:

The region in and around Munnar varies in height from 1,600 meters (5,249 ft) to 1,800 meters (5,906 ft) above mean sea level. Munnar enjoys a salubrious climate. The weather ranges between 0 °C (32 °F) and +10 °C (50 °F) in winter and +15 °C (59 °F) and +25 °C (77 °F) in summer. The tourist season is from August to May. However, even the monsoons are lovely with many streams and rivulets in the area.

Kundala Dam is about 15 kilometers from Mattupetty on the way to Top Station. The lake formed by the construction of the dam and the forests surrounding is a scenic beauty. Pedal boating is available in the lake. Kundala tea plantations are situated here.

Pothamedu:

Situated at a distance of around 6 km from the town, Pothamedu is one of the major plantation hubs of Munnar. Views of coffee, tee, and cardamom plantations are excellent from here. It is also an ideal place for trekking and hiking amidst lush mountains, rolling hills, and breathtaking scenery.

Pallivasal:

A place of immense scenic beauty, Pallivasal is situated around 8 km from Munnar. It has the distinction of being home to the first hydropower project in Kerala.

Attukal:

The place is highly rejuvenating with its panoramic waterfalls and rolling hills. An ideal place for long trekking, Attukal is situated between Munnar and Pallivasal.

Devikulam: 7 km from munnar

An idyllic hill station, near Munnar, Devikulam gives a cut-off-the world experience in dark and deep woods. The Sita Devi Lake here is an ideal picnic spot with beautiful surroundings. Devikulam is an out-of-the-world experience among exotic flora and fauna, cool mountain air, and velvet lawns. Nyayamakad:

An excellent picnic and trekking point, Nyayamakad is situated at a distance of 10 km from Munnar near Rajamala. Nyayamakad is a land of scintillating waterfalls with water cascading down from a height of around 1,600 metres.

Chithirapuram:

Once the favorite of the British, this small hill station exudes an old-world charm with its old playgrounds and courts, bungalows, and sleepy little cottages. Situated at a distance of around 10 km from Munnar, Chithirapuram is home to Pallivasal hydel power project.

Lock Heart Gap: 13 km from munnar

This is an ideal place for adventure tourism and trekking. The fresh mountain air, the mist-clad hills and panoramic view make it worthy of a visit.

Anayirangal: 22 kms from Munnar

It's a lush green carpet of tea plants. A trip on the splendid reservoir is an unforgettable experience. The Anayirangal dam is surrounded by Tata Tea plantations and evergreen forests. It is an ideal picnic spot.

Valara: 10 kms from Adimali

Valara has a chain of waterfalls surrounded by thick green forests.

Cheeyappara:

The Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls are located between Neriamangalam and Adimali on the Kochi - Madurai highway.

Meenuli:

It is noted for 2 acres of evergreen forests upon a huge rock. The rock is more than 500 acres in area and an ideal spot for mountaineering.

Power House Waterfalls: 18 km from Munnar

The waterfall on the way to Thekkady from Munnar cascades down a steep rock 2000 Mts above sea level. The spot is enriched with the scenic Western mountain ranges, and is an ideal place for a break on the way to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in Thekkady.

Road conditions:

The National Highway 49 through Thripunithura is spectacular. Great curves made very safe with correct bordering of tar and warning signs. Awesome drive. The road to Munnar offers quite a lot of beautiful views.

Dream liner Continues:

My friends and myself started our journey one fine December morning, from Thripunithura to Munnar, a hill resort in the Western Ghats of Kerala. In that Chrismas day morning,I was already awake at 3:45 though I had set the alarm for 4 and was just lying there on the bed waiting for the alarm to ring so that I could get up (am a very lazy person u c). I started the journey at 6:30 am to Thripunithura. We joined at SN Junction and proceeded via Chithrapuzha and Karimugal . I was beginning to enjoy even before the trip had started. Petrol and air filled from Chithrapuzha pump and spend some time for photo session.

We finally started at 5:50 or so from there. It was a real pleasure to thump the ghat road. I knew the route not very well and we had no problem en route. The ride through the Neriamangalam forest negotiating more than a dozen bends was exhilarating, It made us reduce speed. My friends and myself proceeded slowly to Munnar.

മൂന്നാറില്‍ എത്തിയപ്പോള്‍ എവിടെയൊക്കെ പോകണം എന്ന് ഒരു പിടിത്തവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. നേരെ ചെന്നു കയറിയത് ഡി ടി പി സി യുടെ ഓഫീസില്‍ . ഞാന്‍ അവിടെ കയറി ഒരു മാപ് മേടിച്ചു.

ആദ്യമായി മൂന്നാര്‍ പോകുന്നവര്‍ അവിടെ കയറി മാപ് മേടിക്കുന്നത് നല്ലതാണ് , ആ ഒരു ഷീറ്റ് പേപ്പറില്‍ ഒരുവിധം മുഴുവന്‍ സ്ഥലവും പറയുന്നുണ്ട് . എന്തായാലും നേരെ ഇരവികുളം പാര്‍ക്കിലേക്ക് പോകാന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചു. പോകുന്ന വഴിയില്‍ ഒരു കാരറ്റ് ഷോപ് കണ്ടു ബൈക്ക് നിര്‍ത്തി. അവിടെ ഒരു രസകരമായ സംഭവം ഉണ്ടായി. അവിടെ രണ്ടു പേരെ കണ്ടു അവരെ നമുക്കു ശശി എന്ന് വിളിക്കാം.

സത്യം പറഞാല്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ഒന്നും മനസ്സിലായില്ല , ഇവര്‍ എന്തിനെ കുറിച്ചാണ് ഈ പറയുന്നത് .

അതെ അവര്‍ വെള്ളം അടിയെ കുറിച്ചാണ് പറയുന്നത് . അതിനു ഞങ്ങള്‍ ഇവരോട് ഒന്നും ചോദിച്ചില്ലല്ലോ . എന്തായാലും ഞങ്ങള്‍ കഴിക്കുന്നില്ല ബൈക്ക് ഓടിക്കേണ്ടാതാണ് എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു മാറി. രാജമലയില്‍ നല്ല തിരക്കാണ് എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞതും ഞങ്ങള്‍ ചെവിക്കൊണ്ടില്ല. അവരോട് വിട പറഞ്ഞു ഞങ്ങള്‍ വണ്ടി എടുത്തു. രാജമലയിലെ തിരക്ക് കണ്ടു ഞാന്‍ ഞെട്ടി , കുറച്ചു വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കു മുന്പ് ഞാന്‍ വന്നപ്പോള്‍ ഇവിടെ തിരക്കും ഇല്ലാരുന്നു കൂടാതെ നടന്നു കയരമാരുന്നു. പക്ഷെ ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഫോറസ്റ്റ് ചേട്ടന്മാര്‍ ബസ്സ് സര്‍വീസ് ഈര്പെടുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു. നല്ല തിരക്കും. നിന്നു മടുത്തു അവസാനം അവിടെ നിന്നു ഞങ്ങള്‍ തിരിച്ചു പോന്നു. മുന്നാര്‍ ടൌണില്‍ ചെന്നു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു .

എന്നാല്‍ സമയം കളയാതെ മടുപെട്ടി , ടോപ്പ് സ്റേഷന്‍ എന്നീ സ്ഥലം കൂടി കാണാം എന്ന് കരുതി മാടുപെട്ട്യില്‍ കുറച്ചു നേരം ഇരുന്നു ഫോടോസും എടുത്തു നേരെ ടോപ്പ് സ്റ്റ്ശനിലേക്ക്. കുറച്ചു പോയപ്പോള്‍ ഒരു സാദാ ബൈക്കില്‍ ഒരുത്തന്‍ നല്ല സ്പീഡില്‍ ഓവര്‍ ടേക്ക് ചെയ്തു പോയി. സ്ഥലത്തു നല്ല കൊടും വളവയടിനലും എന്റെ ബൈകിനു ബ്രെകെ എല്ലതടിനലും ഞാന്‍ അവനെ വെറുതെ വിട്ടു. എല്ലാരുന്നെന്കില്‍ കാണിച്ചു കൊടുത്തേനെ പക്ഷെ ഹരിക്ക് അത് ഇഷ്ടപെട്ടില്ല എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു, അവന്‍ അതിന്റെ പിറകെ പാഞ്ഞു . കുറെ നേരം ആയിട്ടും അവനേ കാണുന്നില്ല എന്തായാലും എത്തിക്കോളും എന്ന് കരുതി ഞങ്ങള്‍ നേരെ ടോപിലേക്ക് .

ഞങ്ങൾ അവിടെ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ ഹരി അവിടെ നില്പുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.ഞങ്ങൾ നേരെ അവിടേക്ക് നടന്നു. അവിടം കേരളാ ബോർഡർ ആണ്. അവിടെ പാസ് എടുത്താൽ മാത്രമേ അവിടേക്ക് കയറ്റി വിടുകയുള്ളൂ. അത് ഒരു പ്രൈവറ്റ് പ്രോപ്രർട്ടി ആണ് എന്നാണ് അറിയാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞത്. എന്തായാലും തമിഴ് നാടിന്റെ ഒരു വിദൂര ദ്രിശ്യം അവിടെ നിന്ന് കാണാം. അവിടെ നിന്നും തിരിച്ചു മൂന്നാർ ടൌൺ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ നേരം ഇരുട്ടിയിരുന്നു.എന്റെ ബൈക്കിനു ബ്രേക്ക് എന്ന സാധനം തീരെ ഇല്ലാരുന്നു. എന്നാലും
ഞങ്ങൾ പറപ്പിക്കുവാൻ തന്നെ തീരുമാനിച്ചു. ഇന്നും പേടിയോടെ മാത്രമേ എനിക്കു അതു ഓർക്കാൻ കഴിയൂ. ആ കൊടും വളവിലൂടേ 60 ൽ കുറയാതെയാണു ഓടിച്ചത്.
എന്തായാലും 10 മണിയോടെ വീട്ടിൽ എത്തി.എന്റെ സുഹ്രുത്തിന്റെ അച്ഛൻ അവിടെ നില്പുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ബൈക്കിനാണു പോയതെന്ന് മനസ്സിലായെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. എന്തായാലും അന്ന് എന്റെ സുഹ്രുത്തിനു കാള രാത്രിയായിരുന്നു. എന്തായാലും അന്ന് മുതൽ എന്റെ ലോംഗ് ട്രിപ്പുകൾ ആരംഭിച്ചു.
